NEW MLS® SYSTEM – BE PREPARED

This is the second blog post in a series of posts to prepare you for the upcoming transition to our new MLS® System – which has an expected implementation date of mid-April.

We want to ensure that Members are fully aware that this will be a massive learning curve! Our plan is do theatre-style training with CoreLogic Staff to familiarize the Membership with the system’s layout and core features. The next step will be to do hands-on training by fellow REALTORS® who will be thoroughly trained on the system — this will help you retain the info you learned during the theatre-style training and also let you ask questions as you play within the system yourself. The Directors requested a budget from the Membership which was approved that will allow us to extend the training period, as our Members will be doing the hands on training, and give the Membership a chance to learn at their own pace.

One of the biggest inconveniences you will face during the transition is that your Clients “prospect searches” cannot be integrated into the new MLS® System. Your contacts can be imported, but not the searches themselves. While this does seem problematic, we encourage Members to utilize this as an opportunity to strengthen your working-relationship with your Clients. The new MLS® System will offer better searching capabilities and will also allow your clients the opportunity to do their “own searches” from the Client Portal. For those Members who do not wish to go this route, we encourage you to start noting down the search requirements for your Clients.
