Today, some regions in Ontario are moving to Stage 3 of Ontario’s reopening framework. For real estate, that means open houses are now permitted in those regions.
While the lifting of the prohibition means Members in those areas can begin hosting open houses again with safety precautions in place, we recommend you and your clients continue to use virtual tools to view properties wherever possible. If that’s not an option, then we encourage you to schedule safe showings instead.
If your clients insist on hosting an open house, OREA has put together guidance to help you do it safely. OREA’s Stage 3 Guidance for Real Estate Transactions includes best practices for organizing and hosting open houses if necessary.
You can read thier guidance document here.
